It's Christmas day... and we decided to celebrate it at a Waterfalls, at Bentong, Pahang, Malaysia. Had a nice picnic there and enjoyed the scenery.
We really had fun. It was actually a bit far than we expected... in fact, everyone was actually hungry once we got there.
The food was nice... Pinakbet (a popular Ilocano dish from the Philippines) (it's a mixture of pork, bitter gourd, eggplants, tomatoes, string beans, and okra with bagoong alamang (shrimp paste)), Rellenong Bangus (stuffed Milkfish) (you actually have to take out the fish bones, take the bangus meat mixed with peas, raisins... to create the stuffing), Tinapang Isda (smoked fish), Black Pepper Chicken and Sweet and Spicy Chicken.
After having our lunch picnic there... we went to the waterfalls... just wading in the water... the kids went for a swim at a deeper (yet safe) part.
The water was cold... so we all enjoyed it. It was a bit dangerous though, cause of the rocks. We just had to be careful going down to the waterfalls.
My hubby took some good pictures of the waterfalls from a better angle... at the top of some huge rocks.
It was a good Christmas... we really had fun. :)
Now that's a unique way to spend the day!
ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas!

ReplyDeletewow what a gorgeous place to be, beautiful photos!
ReplyDeleteWow! That place is gorgeous! I bet the water was so refreshing, especially for you since you are pregnant. That is a great way to spend the day, and you look so pretty!!!
ReplyDeleteOh, and I love pinakbet!!!!!
What a wonderful post honey. I love your background! Thank you so much for the heart felt comments you left on my divorce post. They meant more to me than you know. It's amazing to me that so many of us strong women have had these experiences. It takes a bad one to find the good guys I guess. Hope you have a very good new year doll ...Kori xoxo
ReplyDelete@Elizabeth Mahlou: Thanks Elizabeth... yeah, actually my friend thought of this cause she's so bored at home. She wanted a new ambiance for the holidays.. and a place where her kids could enjoy too. :)
ReplyDelete@Chow and Chatter: Thanks Rebecca... How was your holiday? :)
@Lions, Tigers and Fashion OH MY!: Thanks...we had fun, especially the kids. :)
@Alicia: Thanks Alicia... since it's not cold here in KL, just cooling off at the waterfalls is the next best thing for us... it's actually like summer here... so warm. We all enjoyed the cool water and the scenery there.
@Blondie: Thanks Kori, well those experiences has made us stronger... I can tell you. I've experienced being dumped by my boyfriend for almost 3 years while i'm studying alone overseas... without my family with me, just few of my good friends to support me... and to top it off, it was just a few days before my final exams. It's tough, but you learn from it.
I've heard once, you have to kiss a few frogs to get your prince... haha. :D Hope this year brings you happiness dear. xoxo
Now I feel hungry. Can I have some?
